Spend a little time in 1900.
Apples dipped in caramel and buffalo stew chock full of vegetables, cinnamon sugar fry bread and kettle corn popped over the fire - Heritage Days at Osborne Nature Center is a great place to be hungry. It's also a great place to do some hand's on learning about what things used to be like.
It's hot business in the blacksmith shop, where iron work tinks over the fire. Find some shade at the Trading Post and shop the handcrafted items or tour the one room school house. Watch basket weaving and yarn spinning in the homesteader's cabin. Learn about the printing press and how Guttenberg's moveable type revolutionized the printed world. Make and take home a length of your own rope, learn some patience hand dipping your own wax candles and reinvent a handkerchief into a doll.
This is a great event for kids!
