Paper Moon

          Louise White and her daughter Jennifer know how to create a joyful space.  Their business, Paper Moon, is housed in one of McGregor's historic downtown buildings.  This three-story brick structure dates back to 1867 and, like the merchandise, is a lovely combination of old, new and quirky.  Travelers to northeast Iowa should consider this store an essential shopping destination.  On the first floor are displays for fine toiletries, antiques, collectibles, retro reproductions, jewelry and an expansive array of greeting cards.  The second Floor houses children's books, games and toys; the third floor is for the library lovers-the ideal blend of shelves, stacks and cozy nooks.  The musical stylings of the Andrews Sisters and the Puppini Sisters give the store a friendly vibe and Mitchum, the famous black and white shop cat, offers every visitor a mellow hello.
          You might say this store has it all, even the kitchen sink- which is, in fact, located in the cookbook room.  Open year round.
