Streams, rivers, forests and bluffs line the fairways of Northeast Iowa's well-tended golf courses; some have spectacular views that can only be seen from the course. With a few exceptions, most are nine-hole courses that welcome visitors for a fee. Decorah's Oneota Golf Club along the Upper Iowa River is one of the few 18-hole courses in the area but don't miss out on the unique experiences found at the 9-hole courses. For example, the Pleasant Valley Golf Course near Clermont has a fairway that curves around an Indian Mound and the fifth hole at the Guttenberg Golf Course has a stunning overlook of the Mississippi River Valley from atop a bluff. So where ever your travels take you in Northeast Iowa, relax and spend some time on the course. Fore!
